What exactly is MicroGRID?
MicroGRID by TriSMART is a complete home energy service that combines an excessive amount of solar power, and a large amount of battery storage. The MicroGRID will provide consistent and reliable energy no matter what happens to the grid. The excess power and storage from your MicroGRID is used to alleviate the demands of the grid in your region. In exchange for hosting a MicroGRID on your property you get first rights to the power it produces and pay a very low, fixed amount for the power you use.
Who qualifies?
All Texas homeowners qualify. No credit check, no income requirement, and no impact to your credit report.
How much does it cost?
Your monthly payment is fixed for 30 years equal to $0.12/kWh of your energy usage. There are no upfront costs, no escalations, and no hidden fees.
Will I still have a utility bill?
Yes, you’ll always stay grid-connected. Most customers only pay a small base fee to their utility. If you use more power than your MicroGRID produces, you’ll buy the extra at a reduced rate.
Do I need to claim tax credits?
No. All tax credits and depreciation are handled by our partners. You simply enjoy predictable energy costs — no tax paperwork, no financing burden.

Why so many batteries?
The six-battery setup (80 kWh total) is designed for whole-home backup and to support grid services that further reduce your costs and create a more reliable grid.
What happens if I move?
The MicroGRID stays with the home, adds resale value, and transfers seamlessly to the next homeowner. There is a one time fee of $500 to transfer the service to the new owner of the home.
Is the equipment American-made?
Yes — our inverters, batteries, and racking are made in the USA.
What does the 20-year guarantee cover?
Your MicroGRID’s energy production is insured and guaranteed for 20 years, giving you peace of mind and predictable savings.
Do I own the system?
No — this is structured as a service. You don’t own the equipment. This allows our tax equity investors to take advantage of tax credits and depreication for the first 5 years. These incentives are used to provide you with the lowest cost of power possible. In the 6th year of your agreement you will be encouraged to take ownership of the system for $1 and add it to your home insurance. Regardless of who owns the system you will still need to continue to pay TriSMART your low fixed monthly payment.
